FirstNet Network expands across NYS to advance public safety communications capabilities in Niagara County (NY)

New York ’s first responders are getting a major boost in their wireless communications with the addition of 22 new, purpose-built FirstNet cell sites and other network enhancements. This new infrastructure is part of the FirstNet network expansion taking place across the state, bringing increased coverage, capacity and capabilities for public safety. Text-To-911 coming to Hopkinsville-Christian County on Sept. 1 (KY)

Residents will soon be able to text 911 in the event of an emergency.

Starting Sept. 1, Hopkinsville-Christian County Emergency Communications Center is integrating texting into its 911 answering system.

ECC will be utilizing a platform offered by INdigital called “Texty.”

Greenwich dispatch center fields deluge of calls during Tropical Storm Isaias (CT)

GREENWICH — The Greenwich dispatch center has been extremely busy dealing with the impact of Tropical Storm Isaias on the community.

The 911 call center was staffed with six dispatchers during the height of the storm Tuesday, when the volume of emergency calls coming in was substantial, police said.
