Eau Claire hiring 911 dispatchers (WI)

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – More people are needed to be on the other end of the line when someone calls 911.

The City of Eau Claire is looking to hire several 911 dispatchers in its Communications Center.

In addition to answering emergency calls throughout Eau Claire County, they answer the Eau Claire Police Department’s non-emergency line.

NHTSA Taps Mission Critical Partners for 911 GIS Assessment Initiative; Darrin Reilly Quoted

Mission Critical Partners will work with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to evaluate the state of geographic information systems in the 911 community as part of efforts to improve sharing of GIS data across the U.S.

New dispatch center opens in Williston (ND)

WILLISTON, N.D. — The old Sloulin Field airport terminal in Williston is now the home of two emergency services for the region.

Starting Tuesday, the Upper Missouri River Regional Dispatch Center is taking calls through the state-of-the-art facility. The Williams County Emergency Management operations center is also located inside, where they will provide training and serve as a base of operation in the event of a widescale emergency.

Gov. Beshear plans historic investment to improve public safety (KY)

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WBKO) – Today, Gov. Andy Beshear unveiled part of his upcoming budget plan, which he said makes historic investments in law enforcement so the commonwealth can be a leader in improving public safety.

The Governor’s two-year budget plan provides millions of dollars to fund competitive salaries for Kentucky State Police (KSP) troopers, officers, and telecommunicators, supply recording devices for KSP sworn troopers, and increase the peace officer training stipend.
