‘Really become a citizen superhero’: Chesterfield Fire/EMS announces partnership with PulsePoint (VA)

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) – The Chesterfield County Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services announced a partnership with PulsePoint, a 9-1-1 integrated mobile app and community tool that empowers CPR-trained citizens to help save lives.

“Really become a citizen superhero,” said Chief Deputy Fire Marshal Sal Luciano.

Luciano said there’s two different Pulsepoint apps residents of Chesterfield County can download on their phones.

Some 911 calls to be diverted to new nurse navigator program (NY)

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — If you call 911 in Monroe County you may not get an ambulance. The City of Rochester, Monroe County and AMR have launched a Nurse Navigator program. Certain non-life-threatening injuries or illnesses may now be routed to a licensed nurse.

Bucco Saluting Role of 9-1-1 First Responder Dispatchers Clears Senate

The Senate today advanced bipartisan legislation sponsored by Senator Anthony M. that would retitle emergency operators as 9-1-1 first responder dispatchers.

“In an emergency, the dispatcher becomes the lifeline between those in distress and the first responders answering the call,” said Bucco (R-25). “These hard-working, highly trained individuals dedicate their lives to helping others, but their heroics are unseen and seldom acknowledged.”

Pasadena Police Respond to Over 5,700 9-1-1 Calls in December (CA)

Pasadena police reported officers stayed busy responding to just over 9,300 calls for service in December, capping off the year at 114,454 calls for service from residents of which 62,330 came through 9-1-1.

Pasadena Police Lt. William Grisafe said the critical events detailed in a year-end Community Brief released by police over the weekend comprise a snapshot of the more than 600 calls received by the Police Communications Center every day… READ MORE
