State Rep. Rush Bricken briefed the Coffee County Commission on his proposed bill on Capitol Hill concerning funding of 911 facilities during their recent meeting.
The proposed bill (HB 2520) will change the way Coffee County 911 District (Coffee County Communications Center) covers payroll. Currently, Coffee County taxpayers pay for the salaries of employees working at the center. The 9-1-1 Association announced that Cassie Lowery, ENP of Rutherford County (TN) Emergency Communications has been elected by the organizations’ membership to serve on its Board of Directors and help lead the association’s mission to improve 9-1-1 through research, standards development, training, education, outreach, and advocacy.

Huron County EMA/911 has been awarded an Ohio 9-1-1 Local Sub-grant. The grant is to be used specifically for Next Generation 9-1-1 related expenses and provides up to $135,235.85 in funding.
