More than 35,000 people die each year in traffic crashes, and there’s no doubt that number would be higher if there was not 911 to call when a crash happens. This is one of the reasons that the National 911 Program is housed in NHTSA’s Office of Emergency Medical Services. Another reason: when you call 911, it’s just not about 911 telecommunicators providing help over the phone, but often getting help to your location.

The Culpeper County Board of Supervisors has declared April 10-April 16 National Public Safety Tele-communicators Week in Culpeper recognition of the important work being done every day by local E911 Dispatch Center staff.

WEST MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — According to the Louisiana State Police Facebook page, April 10th through the 16th is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
While we appreciate our telecommunicators every day, we would like to highlight their duties and show some extra gratitude. Employees of the Schuylkill County Communications Center were recognized at Wednesday’s commissioners meeting.
