Dispatchers recognized during National Public Safety Telecommunicators week (WI)

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Saturday marked the final day of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

Aileen Bush is one of the supervisors for the Eau Claire Police Department’s dispatch center.

Sheriff’s Office Announces Telecommunicator of the Year (TN)

Sheriff’s telecommunicator Christina Lee calmly radioed information to deputies responding to a plane crash that killed seven church members onboard May 29, 2021 at Percy Priest Lake.

Lee remained confident as she received and processed a significant amount of information that day, said Sgt. Alicia Frogge.

“She never showed signs of stress under pressure,” Frogge said.

County dispatchers celebrated (AL)

Monday marked the beginning of the 2022 National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, which is set for April 10-16. The purpose of the week is to recognize dispatchers in St. Clair County who work daily to make sure the correct responders are able to manage emergencies quickly.

Public safety telecommunicators, sometimes known as emergency dispatchers, are being recognized this week during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
