Kosciusko County commissioners on Tuesday approved the communications service agreement between J&K Communications Inc. and the county for $2.4 million.
Terry Burnworth, with Pyramid Consulting, who has been working with the county on its communications project since April 2019, said the agreement includes the three new communication tower sites, all the RF equipment, the translation between the 700 megahertz and the VHF, six new consoles, a new recording system and “also we were able to negotiate into it 250 or more – I can’t even remember – of the LT devices for on your smartphone”…

MANCHESTER — City fire officials and staff at American Medical Response this week are rolling out additional advanced life support (ALS) capabilities, and improvements to Manchester’s 9-1-1 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system designed to shorten response times and reduce the need for mutual aid during periods of high demand.
According to Manchester fire officials, calls to Manchester’s EMS system requiring mutual aid ambulances represent less than 1% of all requests for service in the Queen City. Officials expect improvements launching this week to decrease that number even further…

Beginning at 7 a.m. on December 10, 2020, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office will implement a new 911 Texting System, which will allow Tulare County residents to text 911 instead of calling, if they are unable to do so in the case of an emergency.
The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office has been working with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon networks to ensure that the new 911 Texting System is available to all county residents, regardless of their mobile carrier.
Incoming 911 texts will be answered in the same way 911 calls are currently answered, and will immediately be transferred to the most appropriate first responder agency…
