Steve Garrett of Indianola has worked in some type of emergency service in Warren County for more than 25 years. Now, he’s throwing his hat into the race for Warren County Recorder.
Garrett, who is running as a Republican, will face off against three other candidates for Warren County Recorder at the June 7 primary that will determine who will be on the November ballot.

In a city as large as Denver, 911 dispatchers deal with thousands of calls every day. But any dispatcher will tell you there are certain calls that stick with them.
For Asisha Milton, that call came in April of 2021, and it came from nearly 800 miles away.

OTTAWA, Ontario — “As first responders, our RCMP telecom operators are the public’s first point of contact in an emergency. They make sure RCMP officers and other emergency services can intervene rapidly when Canadians need help. At least, this is the theory,” said Kathleen Hippern, president of CUPE Local 104.
