Wait times for 911 callers in Little Rock lag national benchmarks … – (AR)

Members of the Little Rock Board of Directors on Tuesday were told that the city’s 911 communications personnel picked up approximately 70% of calls within 20 seconds so far this year, a rate that falls below national benchmarks.

Last year, approximately 79% of calls were answered in 20 seconds or less, according to a presentation delivered to city board members during a meeting Tuesday.

Tucson’s largest 911 call center gets critical upgrade (AZ)

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — Tucson’s Emergency Communications Center is the second-largest 911 call center in Arizona, on average receiving more than 40,000 calls per month. It relays calls to TPD, South Tucson Police and eight fire and EMS agencies.

This week, the center received a critical upgrade to help call takers and dispatchers now and in the future.
