911 dispatcher disputes city’s claim of no ‘stand down’ policy (OH)

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) — Calls to 911 reveal drivers saying they were surrounded by protesters in downtown Columbus, and they felt threatened.

In one call, a dispatcher tells the caller, “we were told by our mayor to stand down.”

The calls describe protesters laying into cars, surrounding cars, and blocking traffic.

Needham gets public safety building update (MA)

NEEDHAM – Town officials recently received a construction update on the $69.95 million public safety facility project.

Ken Sargent, one of two managers helping to lead the project, said the original schedule anticipated substantial completion by Dec. 31, 2021. He told the board the date has been pushed to Jan. 22, 2020.
