Charleston County 911 dispatcher fired over policy violations (SC)

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The termination letter released by Charleston County explains the violations that led to the firing of a 911 operator last month.

A county termination letter states Desiree John was fired on July 21 for failure to properly perform duties as a public safety telecommunication “by not entering or answering multiple calls for service.”

D.C. investigating response to 911 call after death of 3-month-old boy

A top D.C. public safety official conceded Friday that a misstep in dispatching paramedics delayed the arrival of a medical team after a 911 call about a 3-month-old boy who had been left in a car. The boy died, and authorities said they are investigating the circumstances.

D.C. Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice Christopher Geldart said that it took the medical team “too long” to arrive.

Robbinsville Dispatcher Charged with Stealing More Than $250,000 in Township Property (NJ)

Onofri and Robbinsville Township Police Chief Michael Polaski announced today that a 21-year employee of the Robbinsville Township Police Department has been charged with stealing and selling property and equipment belonging to the police department for personal gain.

Coran has been employed by the Robbinsville Township Police Department as a communications officer since 2002.
