ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) — Officials are urging residents in Adams County to register for CodeRED alerts. It’s a mobile alert system that will allow you to receive real-time emergency notifications from the county’s dispatch center.

Putnam Awarded $6 million for Emergency Communications (NY)

CARMEL, N.Y. – Putnam County has been awarded $6 million in state funding to improve emergency communications, infrastructure and public safety operations.

The funding, which is part of Phase 2 of the 2018 Statewide Interoperable Communications Targeted Grant Program, will enable the county to add six new communications tower sites and add new radio channels to enhance communications between the county’s fire /EMS services, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Metropolitan Transit Authority Police Department, school districts and municipal police departments…

Dispatcher warned of Jamesville teen’s airgun and ‘suicide by cop’ before fatal shooting by police (listen) (NY)

Jamesville, N.Y. — Police agencies responding to a mental health check of a 17-year-old Jamesville boy Thursday afternoon were warned that he may have an airsoft gun and had considered “suicide by cop” in the past.

Monterey County rejiggers 911 procedures after a jail escape call went unreported (CA)

When a passerby witnessed what he thought was a man escaping from Monterey County Jail in January, he grabbed his cellphone, called 911 and described what he had seen just 60 seconds earlier as he drove near the county offices: A man “in gray shorts, bald headed, like all tattooed, barefoot, no shirt, running across the street,” the caller told the 911 operator.
