Iredell County Emergency Communications training coordinator Jody Sherrill was recognized recently by the Board of County Commissioners for being named the N.C. Association of Public Safety Communication Officials Trainer of the Year for 2022.
The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies — CALEA — is a national group that provides an accreditation program for public safety agencies. In order to receive this distinction, an agency must show full compliance with CALEA standards.
State-of-the-art technology is now being used at the Carroll County 911 Dispatch Center located in the sheriff’s office at the Carroll County Courthouse after completion of a months-long major software and facility remodeling and upgrade.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) Communications Center has been re-accredited as the world’s 29th Medical Accredited Center of Excellence. Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) promotes organizational excellence in public safety communications by encouraging committed agencies to complete “20 points of Accreditation,” a rigorous and measurable set of globally recognized practices. This is the 8th accreditation for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office since 1999 and they are one of only 13 agencies in the world achieving this milestone.
