KALAMAZOO, MI — County commissioners debated what Kalamazoo frontline workers deserved to receive the hazard pay recently offered by the state, ultimately deciding to apply for the potential $171,000 reimbursement.

NORFOLK – Norfolk City Council unanimously passed a resolution to establish a Joint Communications Center and a Joint Advisory Committee for dispatch services between the City of Norfolk and Madison County.
The joint venture is designed to consolidate dispatching for both the City of Norfolk and Madison county into a single area of operation.

The Decorah City Council has approved a ten-year lease to the 9-1-1 Board of space on the Decorah Business Park water tower. The 9-1-1 Board will install additional antennae on the water tower to improved Internet communications in the area, expanding the coverage for 9-1-1 communications and equipment.
Installation of the new equipment will be done by AcenTek. Using the city’s water tower for an antenna site will provide greater coverage and quality than a standalone tower would… READ MORE

The city of San Francisco is being asked to take a stand against Karens.
Supervisor Shamann Walton introduced on Tuesday the Caution Against Racially Exploitative Non-Emergencies (or CAREN) Act, which would make it illegal to “fabricate false racially biased emergency reports.”

In 2008, Pittsburg County and the city of McAlester began working together to improve the 911 Emergency Service for the residents of Pittsburg County. The result of that effort, was that each town, city, rural area, and visitor could now request and get help by calling 911.
