Madison- Today, Governor Tony Evers signed Senate Bill 673, authored by Rep. Amy Loudenbeck (R-Clinton) and Sen. Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green). The bill is now 2021 Wisconsin Act 261.
Act 261 creates a Geographical Information System (GIS) grant program to assist counties with the cost of data preparation, data gathering, data creation, geographic information system staffing, data preparation and collection contracts, and training. (WXYZ) — Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard is calling on Congress to fund “Next Generation 9-1-1” to mark the end of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
Next Generation 9-1-1 would enable call centers to receive multimedia data from callers. This would allow 9-1-1 operators to easily send that information to other 9-1-1 centers and first responders in real-time.

Apr. 10 – 16 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, and Strathcona County is taking some time to recognize the people on the other end of 9-1-1 calls.
Satina Koscielny is the supervisor of the municipal operational communications centre in Strathcona County. Originally from Manitoba, she got into the field after a friend told her about a job opening.

CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) –
The need for 9-1-1 centers is clear, but the way call centers operate in the state will be changing entirely.

TWIGGS COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office announced its E-911 Center has another way for people to reach out during emergencies.
Text-To-911 is now available to everyone throughout the County.
