Management and Communications is investigating an incident involving a

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT)
After a girl calls 9-1-1 and orders a pepperoni pizza to hint to police
that her mother was in a domestic dispute, questions have raised if
code words like these are the new norm when calling for help.
KMVT dug a little deeper, and reached out to
city officials here in Twin Falls. They say they noticed situations like
these happening over a year ago, possibly having originated from a meme
in California. It apparently spread rapidly.

ROGERSVILLE — As of Wednesday
afternoon, all staff members at the Hawkins Co. Emergency Communications
District’s E-911 dispatch center have been re-certified to handle
Emergency Medical Dispatch calls, and the center was again dispatching
those calls.
The two days of intense, on-site training — including training a staff member to keep track of and oversee future training needs — were conducted by Dorothy Cave, RPL, NREMT, the EMD Program Manager for the Daytona Beach, Florida-based APCO, the firm that handles the center’s certified training needs, along with a full audit of all of the center’s training records, at a cost to the ECD….

ROGERSVILLE — Questions surrounding
the Emergency Medical Dispatching certifications of several Hawkins Co.
Emergency Communications District dispatchers resulted this week in all
staff having to be re-certified by an onsite instructor, and a full
training audit of all staff members, because more than half were said to
be non-compliant.
That
training, and an on-site training records audit, will cost the county
more than $8,000 and could have possible legal ramifications should
questions arise about medical calls that were dispatched by a person who
was non-certified at the time.

There’s more proof this (Wednesday) afternoon the 911 center in the
Nation’s Capital is incapable of performing its core mission of sending
the right help to the right location in a timely manner. In today’s
incident, DC Fire & EMS Department Engine 1 attempted to get two
additional engine companies and a battalion chief to assist with a
natural gas leak. Amid much confusion at the Office of Unified
Communications (OUC or 911 center), it took dispatchers approximately
seven minutes to alert the additional companies.
