Jonathan Bennett was the Ada County 911 dispatcher that took the
call. He was actually in training with another dispatcher when the call
came in.
Bennett said the situation was a little scary for both himself and the callers, but they were very focused.
“It
wasn’t the first call I gave CPR instructions on, but it was the first
call where they had an AED, a defibrillator on-site,” Bennett said.

During its Aug. 22 meeting,
the South Dakota 911 Coordination Board unanimously voted to amend a
contract for the South Dakota Next Generation 911 Project.
This
amendment is in regards to the Rapid City call center with its multiple
workstations, dual electrical circuits, cabling and need to replace/buy
more uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units.
Explanation
A 911 call center for police,
firefighting and ambulance services is referred to as a public safety
answering point (PSAP). These call centers run 24 hours a day,
dispatching emergency services or passing 911 calls on to public or
private safety agencies.

BRIDGEPORT — Phone service for resident and government offices have been restored according city officials.
Phone service was restored around 2pm.
Bridgeport officials said in an email shortly before noon, “ITS has
received confirmation of a “Frontier Communications” City-wide outage
affecting phone service for numerous residences and businesses. This
outage is affecting INCOMING calls from residents and businesses that
have Frontier as their carrier. OUTGOING calls for our city lines are
also affected as we also have Frontier service for office
telecommunications at MMGC, City Hall, BPD, BFD, BPS, Bridgeport Public
Library, and other city facilities such as the Health Department at East
Main Street.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) — A South Jersey police department is
using smartphone technology to help in emergencies. Officials in
Gloucester Township unveiled the new 911 system on Monday.
New technology, like live streaming, can provide even more
information when people in trouble call for emergency services. The goal
of the new 911 system is to help first responders react better to
emergencies.

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – York County is making big changes to its 911 Center.
Fire, police, EMS and communication workers say the current setup isn’t working.
York County hired a firm to evaluate the center, and it released a public report of recommendations this summer.
This week, county leaders decided to move forward with IXP, the
New-Jersey based company that put together the report, as a management
consultant.
“The county put out a request for qualifications,” said Mark Walters, the York County public information officer.
IXP was among multiple companies that expressed interest in working with the county to implement the recommendations.
