Bell Mobility wins CAD 765 mln contract to rebuild Ontario’s Public Safety Radio Network

The government of Ontario in Canada has chosen Bell Mobility to rebuild core components of the province’s aging Public Safety Radio Network (PSRN), in a contract worth CAD 765 million. The network is used by the province’s more than 38,000 first responders, including provincial police, paramedics, hospital staff, forest fire services and correctional officers. The PSRN was last replaced in 1998. After at least 10 years of brainstorming and back-and-forth, an E-911 Joint Communications Center that houses dispatch representatives from the City of Columbus and Platte County is up and running.

Board members of the St. Francois County Joint Communications Center reviewed financials and upcoming projects Wednesday when they met. E911 request tax increase for radio infrastructure
