The Prince William County Department of Public Safety Communications has implemented a new alarm response program designed to improve 9-1-1 response time, minimize duplicate data entry and possible errors, and reduce unnecessary calls between alarm companies and the department.
The new program, called Automated Secure Alarm Protocol, or ASAP, connects 9-1-1 centers that are known as Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) because they receive calls from the public as well as transfers from alarm companies.

A new emergency dispatch center that will serve nearly half a million people in north Harris County is set to be housed in the Emergency Services District No. 16/Klein Fire Department facility at 16810 Squyres Road, Spring.The operation, which will service fire response and emergency rescue calls, is being spearheaded by the Texas Emergency Communications Center.

Following a decision by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation and Weeks Medical Center to end what had been more than three decades of public safety dispatch services out of DOT’s District 1 in Lancaster, a number of western Coos County towns are about to make the switch to Grafton County’s dispatch system.

CHARLES TOWN — Delaney Hannah, 12, of Charles Town, did not expect to find her great-aunt having a diabetic emergency when she arrived home from school on April 15, but that is exactly what she found. Familiar with the symptoms her aunt was experiencing, Delaney called 911 emergency and was connected with Mallory Spinks at the call center.
