Santa Monica City Council voted Tuesday to begin the process of reforming the Santa Monica Police Department and reallocating some department funding to crime prevention programs.

US authorities will investigate interference in police radio communication, government websites and networks used by law enforcement and other government officials during protests over the death of George Floyd, an African-American man, who died in police custody at the hands of a white officer.
