GREENWICH — The Greenwich dispatch center has been extremely busy dealing with the impact of Tropical Storm Isaias on the community.

The 911 call center was staffed with six dispatchers during the height of the storm Tuesday, when the volume of emergency calls coming in was substantial, police said.

Public safety should retain control of its 50 MHz of 4.9 GHz spectrum—airwaves that the FCC is considering for at least some commercial use—through an allocation to the FirstNet Authority, according to the newly formed Public Safety Spectrum Alliance (PSSA).
