Every year, during the second week of April, we honor the unseen heroes on the other side of the phone line. National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is an opportunity to recognize our committed Communications Officers for their tireless dedication to public safety – our operations would not be possible without these remarkable individuals. Communications Officers are the calm voice behind the phone when our citizens call for help during an emergency. They are the connection between those in need of help and emergency personnel. From being the initial first responder relaying instructions and critical information to callers until help arrives, our Communications Officers offer comfort, guidance, aid, and support every step of the way.
