Trumbull County and its three commissioners are named in an age discrimination civil rights lawsuit filed by former county 911 director Ernest Cook.

Filed in U.S. District Court, the attorney for the 70-year-old Cook alleges that he was removed a year ago from the job which he held since 2015.

Cook claims he was replaced with someone his lawsuit alleges was less qualified and 30 years younger than him.

The suit claims that commissioner Niki Frenchko ran for County Commissioner on a platform of “Getting rid of the good old boys” which Cook says resulted in the decision to terminate at least five senior County employees.
