The City of Lexington began rolling out its “My City, I Count” awareness campaign in 2019 to prepare residents for this years’ census, which is held nationally every 10 years. Greene said there has been a big push to get everyone in the city to participate to get an accurate representation of the population because that number is what is used when municipalities receive funding for tax allotments; grants and other government programs.
