(HELTONVILLE) – A coordinated effort between Lawrence County 9-1-1 dispatchers and Pleasant Run Fire Department helped an elderly man who was lost in the woods Saturday afternoon.
Around 1:16 p.m. Saturday, Lawrence County 9-1-1 dispatchers received a call from a 72-year old male who got lost in the woods on McPike Branch Road north of Heltonville.
“The 9-1-1 dispatchers used GPS coordinates from the 9-1-1 call and three firefighters using their GPS, as well as using a siren from the fire truck, helped firefighters locate him,” said Chad Hillenburg of Pleasant Run Fire Department.
