WILLIAMSTON, Martin County — Martin County held a ribbon-cutting for its new Regional Communications Center on Wednesday.

The new center will house the Martin County 911 Communications Center, which has relocated from the Martin County Courthouse.

Officials say the new building and Next Generation 911 technology were funded through a grant from the North Carolina 9-1-1 Board. Eric Boyette, State CIO and secretary of the North Carolina Department of Information Technology, serves as the Chairman of the NC 911 Board and said the new communications center will help Martin County better serve its citizens.
