Morgan County’s 911 Center was officially dedicated last Wednesday, May 5 during an outdoor ceremony that honored two men closely tied to emergency communications in the county.
County officials unveiled a wooden sign naming the facility the Michael-MacDonald 911 Center. A more permanent metal plaque will be installed by the county soon.

The Dearborn Heights city council voted May 11 to keep the city’s emergency dispatch center, instead of joining Dearborn’s joint dispatch center, and to seek bids for equipment and upgrades.

In a retrospective study of trauma patients over 65 years of age attended by KSS, it was found that, although a number of these patients had sustained a minor injury through seemingly innocuous mechanisms, a high proportion of this group required advanced clinical interventions and subsequent tertiary level care at a major trauma center.
