The Independence County Quorum Court met Monday evening to begin the a new year of business for the area.
County attorney Daniel Haney told the court he expects the City of Batesville to appeal Circuit Court Judge Holly Meyer’s final order filed Jan. 6, which awarded the county $174,682 in damages.
“The county has been vindicated,” Haney told the court, adding it would be difficult to overturn this decision.
