BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A new 911 center is on the way for emergency management officials in Boone County.

This is a statement from Director of Emergency Management & Chief Information Officer Michael Mayhorn:

“The Boone County Emergency Communications Center project has been years in the making and represents one of the largest public safety infrastructure investments ever undertaken by Boone County. This project is not the result of a single event or recent emergency; rather, it is the culmination of years of planning, evaluation, and preparation to ensure Boone County’s emergency communications system remains reliable and capable of serving our citizens for the next 40 to 50 years.
