MARYSVILLE, Wash. — It was almost bedtime when a strange noise told Nya Palek something was wrong. “It was a noise that caught my attention. I knew somebody needed my help in the house.”
That ‘somebody’ was her son, 6’7” high school senior, Lul Palek. The otherwise healthy athlete was non-responsive, gasping for air facedown, and making strange noises.
