Grand County Sheriff’s Dispatch employee Jenny Tuft was named Dispatcher of the Year when the Utah Sheriff’s Association held its annual conference Tuesday, Sept. 17, in St. George.

The award relates to a medical emergency that occurred in December.

The citation reads: “On the evening of Dec. 13, 2018, Jenny Tuft received a 911 call from a distressed female advising that her 74-year-old husband had just fallen face down and was breathing strangely. Jenny immediately advised the caller to roll her husband onto his back and open his airway. Jenny proceeded to get resources en route and began instructing the caller to perform CPR.
