BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — You may start to notice some changes when it comes to calling 911 in the Birmingham.

Right now, there are an average of six to eight dispatchers working at a time. Those workers do a great job, but can sometimes get overloaded. When that happens, a call gets placed on cue, meaning the system places it on hold until the next operator is available.

City officials say this delay will be a thing of the past thanks to changes coming to fruition.
