While most of Genesee County is struggling with long ambulance wait times, Fenton is averaging wait times of 5 and a half minutes, thanks to the city having its own dispatching center.
The city of Fenton has contracted with STAT EMS to provide ambulance services for 12 years.
Joseph Karlichek, vice president of STAT, said the contract is primarily engineered to ensure Fenton has coverage 24/4, every day of the year with dedicated crews and backup procedures available.
