BELLEFONTE — It’s hard to imagine today, but in the early 1990s, dialing 911 was not an option in many parts of the United States. Instead, citizens were left scrambling to remember and dial local seven-digit numbers in their most desperate moments.
June 1, 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of the implementation of the countywide 911 Emergency Communications System in Centre County.
